The Electus (Eclectus roratus) is a parrot native to the Maluku Islands. It is unusual in the parrot family for the extreme sexual dimorphism of the colors of the plumage, with the male having a mostly bright emerald green plumage and the female having a mostly bright red and purple/blue plumage. They can be great family birds, very gentle, and tranquil. They can live up to 40+ years, they have an elongated digestive track; meaning they have certain dietary needs.
